CEO, Rubicon

Hi my name is Robert Nordstrom and I am the CEO for Rubicon. I have been in this role since May 2016. Prior to joining Rubicon, I was a Police officer in the New Zealand Police for 32 years.

My family has lived in Te Tai Tokerau, predominantly in the Kaipara area since 1988.I am married (32 years). My wife (Maria) is a serving Police Officer and is the National Manager for Victims. I have three grown up children. (April 25, Simone 22 and Kalham 20) I also have a grandson aged 15 months (Manaaki)

I have a passion for working with youth, and I have a passion for working with young people in the sporting area.

My passion has for many years been Basketball and as a High School student I lead my school to two National Secondary school titles., I also went on the play for New Zealand in the under 19’s, under 21’s and the Tall Blacks. I also won two national men’s titles with the Wellington Exchequer Saints men’s team

My goal is to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to achieve their potential by completing mainstream education, and completing their high school years as positive role models for others to aspire to be.

Opportunity only knocks once, that opportunity has to be grasped with both hands and taken to the next level with inspirational, motivational and inspired leadership.

Office Manager

My previous roles have included working in communication centres, large corporate companies, a  manufacturing site and for a logistics company.

My family and I moved from Auckland for a change of lifestyle and I have been fortunate enough to have worked for Rubicon all this time.

I thoroughly enjoy my role as Office Manager as it is, while challenging at times,  it is also extremely rewarding being part of a dedicated team.

Registered Nurse

I have always been passionate about working with and empowering young people.

My personal philosophy in nursing has been formed by Professor Mason Durie 1982, Te Whare Tapa wha model of holistic health and wellbeing.

While my primary focus is Taha tinana (Physical health) I believe that in order to achieve positive health outcomes for my clients, I also need to have an understanding of the other corners of the Whare -  Taha Wairua (Spiritual Health), Taha Whanau (Family health), and Taha Hinengaro (Mental health).

I hope to provide guidance that will assist clients to address any underlining issues that may affect their health and wellbeing.
